Picture
The 4 of Swords Tarot card from the Universal Waite Tarot deck.
Today’s TarotCraft Community Tarot Card is the 4 of Swords.  We are encouraged to engage with the gentle energy of stillness, rest and meditation. It’s time to take a break from our busy lives and engage in some wholesome self-care and spiritual renewal. For those in the midst of a difficult time, take an opportunity to step aside and breathe for a while. If you are feeling stale, stuck or sad, this is the time to plan some relaxation and a change of scenery. Otherwise, this might be a call to explore various forms of meditation, or to deepen your existing practice.

About the image: The 4 of Swords from the Universal Waite Tarot deck. A statue of a Knight at rest is shown in this card. The figure lies on top of their tomb, head resting on a pillow and hands in the prayer position at chest height. Three swords hang on the wall above the Knight with their points facing down. Shown on a white background, this is possibly a painting of three swords rather than actual swords. The fourth is placed along the length of the tomb beneath the Knight.  Next to the three swords is part of a stained-glass window that shows a standing figure holding their hand out to someone kneeling before them, similar to the Hierophant and the 6 of Pentacles.
Each Tarot card offers us a Gift, Invitation and Challenge. Before you read on, decide if you want to know what Gift, Invitation or Challenge the 4 of Swords has for you. Please let us know in the comments what your choice was and how the answer applies to you.

GIFT

The Gift of the 4 of Swords is to allow your mind to rest in stillness and meditation. You don’t need anything outside of yourself. Just close your eyes and take a break.

INVITATION

The Invitation of the 4 of Swords is to find a quiet inner place from which clarity can arise.

CHALLENGE

The Challenge of the 4 of Swords is to persevere with the discipline of a meditative practice.
(Hint: the Gift is the grace that is already given us to overcome the Challenge, so if you chose the Challenge, also see the Gift.)

Picture
The 4 of Cups Tarot card from the Universal Waite Tarot deck.
Today’s TarotCraft Community Card is the 4 of Cups, suggesting dissatisfaction with the status quo and isolating oneself from others.
About the image: The 4 of Cups from the Universal Waite tarot deck. A person is seated under a tree on the top of a small hill. Sitting cross-legged on the grass, they cross their arms and bow their head, leaning their back against the tree trunk. The sky is a clear blue. Three upright Cups sit in front of the figure; a fourth Cup is offered to them by a hand emerging from a small cloud. The figure’s body language suggests disconnection to the external world, and inward contemplation.
Each Tarot card offers us a Gift, Invitation, and Challenge. Before you read on, decide if you want to know which one the 4 of Cups has for you today. Please let us know in the comments what your choice was and how the answer applies to you.
Gift
The Gift of this card is the ability to know when something is not suitable for you and to decline the offering, even when other offers may be thin on the ground. You can trust your gut feeling in this matter.
Invitation
The Invitation of this card is to look up and out and see what opportunities are being offered to you. They may not be precisely what you want but moving forward regardless will bring more rewards than doing nothing and waiting for the perfect something that may never arrive.
Challenge
The Challenge of this card is the feeling of burning out emotionally and being unable to offer anything more to anyone at this time. You would be wise to engage in extreme self care for now.
(Hint: the Gift is the grace that is already given us to overcome the Challenge, so if you chose the Challenge, also see the Gift.)

TarotCraft Lesson 202.04: The 4 of Wands

Picture
The 4 of Wands Tarot card from the Universal Waite Tarot deck.
Some readers call the 4 of Wands the “marriage card” and considered it to denote marriage and romantic commitment. It is a very positive omen in a love reading, pointing to a relationship with potential for a long term and deep commitment.
Image description

The image on this card shows four tall, slim tree branches standing on what looks like a stage or raised platform. There is a garland of flowers hung between two of the branches, tied on with ribbons. New growth shoots from the very tips of each branch. There is a castle in the background. In the corner of the image is the same bridge in the background of the 5 of Cups.

Two people holding up bunches of flowers are shown just beyond the edge of the stage and in front of the castle. They are centred between the two middle two wands. There is another group of figures further in the background.
Yellow is the main colour featured in this card. It is the colour of both the stage and the background. The castle is gray with red tipped turrets. The figures are wearing white gowns. One has a red overlay across the gown and the other a blue one.

TarotCraft meaning

Some readers call the 4 of Wands the “marriage card” and considered it to denote marriage and romantic commitment. I would be looking for other cards around it, such as 2 of Cups and Ace of Cups, to confirm this. Regardless, it is a very positive omen in a love reading and points to a relationship with potential for a long term and deep commitment.

On its own, it represents friendship, community and celebration. It also points to a comfortable and stable home life and harmony between people and within communities.

Work/life balance is a more modern interpretation of this card. Work hard, but also take time out to rest and connect with the ones you love. The appearance of this card in a spread can indicate that you are engaged in a successful partnership, union or relationship.

TarotCraft Reversed meaning

Still positive when reversed, you might just need a reminder to prioritise loved ones and the homefront rather than work or other commitments at the present time.

TarotCraft Gift, Invitation, and Challenge

Gift
The Gift of this card is unconditional love and acceptance. Any activities or commitments undertaken with others will bring rewards.

Invitation
The Invitation of this card is to step into friendship, acceptance and camaraderie. Join with others for a good outcome.

Challenge
The Challenge of this card is to reach out to others for support when it’s the last thing you feel like doing. You don’t need to go through your struggles on your own.
