Understanding the Court Cards

The cards that confuse most people most of the time are the Court Cards - the Page, Knight, King and Queen of each suite. They can be difficult to interpret in the context of a spread. For example, if you get the Queen of Swords relating to “Health” spread, what does that mean? Court Cards can represent people or situations.

If they represent a person, we can assume that the card represents someone about to come into the Querent’s life or it can be representing the Querent themselves.

The court cards can also represent a situation. Traditionally, Pages are delivering a message to the querant and the Knights can show “movement” or travel.

Each card is also linked with a star sign, for example the King of Pentacles is Capricorn.
