18. The Moon

The Star is the ‘light face’ of the Goddess and The Moon is the ‘dark face’. In The Star, blessings and enlightenment are Her gifts. In The Moon, Her gifts are harsh but mark the commencement of a phase of initiation, or enlightenment.
The Moon’s gifts involve confronting our deeply held pain and fear. She is the mirror that holds your fears up to your face and encourages you to overcome them. It is human nature to go toward what is comfortable and easy and away from what is hard. The Moon’s lessons are confronting and uncomfortable, but ultimately lead to grace. The Moon gives the gift of self-knowledge as the soul journeys back to its source.
