Two of Pentacles
Monday, July 16th, 2007
The card shown here is the 2 of Pentacles from the Rider-Waite deck. The Rider-Waite deck was the first Tarot deck to have each Minor Arcana card illustrated. Traditionally, the cards would look more like the one shown in the 3 of Pentacles - simply the corresponding number of the suite.
When the 2 of Pentacles comes up in a reading, it tends to show that the querant is ‘juggling’ something, usually their finances or some other practical, tangible aspect of their lives. This is a card about ‘doing’, rather than ‘feeling’ (Cups), ‘thinking’ (Swords). There may be a decision between two jobs or financial opportunities, or as we have all done at one stage, borrowed from Peter to pay Paul and vice versa the next month. Whether this is a temporary or ongoing situation depending on what is show in the other cards accompanying.
